6.0L Powerstroke ICP Sensor
The Ford 6.0 Powerstroke ICP Sensor (Injection Control Pressure Sensor) is one of the most critical sensors on the engine. It senses the pressure in the high-pressure oil system and reports back to the engine computer which in turn adjusts the IPR valve position to achieve the desired pressure for a particular desired engine speed and load. The ICP, ECM, and IPR form a closed loop feedback system. Failure of the ICP sensor can cause a very wide range of driveability symptoms. If there is oil in the ICP sensor connector, it needs to be replaced. If you have a no-start condition, try unplugging the ICP - if the truck starts with the ICP sensor unplugged the sensor is almost certainly bad. To make replacing the ICP sensor easier, check out our 6.0 Powerstroke ICP Sensor Socket.
