IMPORTANT: A majority of the 2001 - 2002 24V Dodge VP44 Cummins injection pump failure is caused by bad lift pumps. The electronics in the VP44 pump are cooled by a large amount of return fuel flow through the injection pump and back to the tank. When the lift pump fails, the truck generally continues to run, often without symptoms. Unfortunately, the injection pump will fail in a relatively short time period. We strongly advise installing a low fuel pressure warning light kit to alert the driver when the lift pump is failing. Please see related items below.
